本研究旨在瞭解馬來西亞華裔成人對外遇的態度之現況，並探討不同「個人背景因素」變項的華裔成人與「外遇態度」之差異情形。本研究對象為年滿18歲之馬來西亞華裔，以網路問卷進行調查，研究工具為「個人基本資料調查表」與「外遇態度量表」，獲得448份有效樣本。所得資料以統計套裝軟體SPSS 18.0 中文版統計軟體，用描述性統計、獨立樣本t檢定、單因子變異數分析與雪費事後比較法加以分析，主要研究結果如下：一、馬來西亞華裔成人的「外遇態度」之整體與四個分項目上—即「外遇的吸力」、「外遇的阻力」、「外遇的感受」及「外遇的意向」—皆傾向保守，亦即較不能接受外遇。二、不同個人背景因素之馬來西亞華裔成人在「外遇態
度」上的差異情形為：1. 馬來西亞華裔成人在性別、年齡及職業上對「外遇態度」有顯著差異。2. 馬來西亞華裔成人在婚姻狀態、婚齡、學歷、收入、宗教及居住地對「外遇態度」無顯著差異。

本研究聚焦婚外「第三者」女性的日常實作與懷孕經驗，採半結構式深度訪談法，訪談14位有/有過婚外關係的異性戀女性，探究異性戀常規如何在日常生活中運做出「第三者」的次等階序。本研究延伸West & Zimmerman（1987）的「做性別」理論，提出「做第三者」概念，來理解「第三者」想像在異性戀常規社會中的運作，以此拓展過往多集中在個人情慾討論的第三者研究。本文論證「第三者」是異性戀階層邏輯運作下，從制度到個人、從抽象關係到物質身體等環節，共同實做出來的社會想像。而婚外女性依所處環境對她的期待、以及她可得的資源，在不同的面向做出順服、協商或反抗。本文提出兩點研究發現：首先，「第三者」是整體社會做
出來的次等位階。「第三者」在法律與婚姻重合的道德規範中，被標示為非法者，在文化霸權的污名下，進入日常的人際衣櫃中，受親友監控、改造。在親密關係相處中，她們回應男友的藏匿態度，共謀式地維繫常規假象，並透過與刻板污名、男友的已婚身份以及妻子劃界，來協商自我的認同。其次，「第三者」被去生殖化的懷孕身體。婚外女性第三者的懷孕，挑戰生殖必須與法律、婚姻重合的規範。與「做」第三者論述呼應，她們的懷孕身體，也同樣面臨非法、污名、掩藏的處境。在懷孕身體被去生殖化的情境中，多數婚外女性亦展現出自我能動。欲生下孩子的女性發展出不同的掩飾孕肚策略，避免汙名延續。決定結束妊娠的女性，則透過身體銘刻，使她們懷孕經驗具備
